Debby’s Magic Cream

Oh, Oh, Oh it's magic!

Oh, Oh, Oh it’s magic!

I started making this cream back when my nieces and nephews were young children.  They named it magic cream because you could put it on any boo boo and it had instant results.  The sting from scraped hands and knees went away immediately!

I have seen serious burns from motorcycle tail pipes healed with little or no scar, blisters that were severe (split open and bleeding) healed in a matter of days and I use it often in the kitchen for simple  burns, etc.

Here is the basic formula:

1 cup oil ( almond, coconut, grapeseed, olive etc)

approx 1/8 cup of beeswax

1 Tablespoon dried plantain leaf

plantain

1 Tablespoon dried calendula blossoms

calendula

Essential oil of Lavender or Lemon or Rosemary

Heat the herbs in the oil over low heat (you can use a double boiler) for about 3 hours or until the oil turns very very green.

Strain out the herbs and put the oil back on the heat.

Add the beeswax and heat until it is mixed in.

Pour into small tins or glass jars – you can add a couple drops of any of the essential oils at this point.  With children I usually use lavender.

This salve will last for at least a couple weeks or so.  You can make it in larger batches and refrigerate it.  Also, if you add a couple drops of  vitamin E when you add the essential oils it will last better.

Use it on scrapes, cuts, stings, bites and any skin condition such as eczema.

    Hi Debby,
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I know these herbs are good for the skin and small wounds. I believe it is just like you wrote, magical.

    Regards
    Git
